How our Church Started

Early church members:

1983 saw the start of the Church of the Nazarene in King's Lynn.

A small group of like-minded Christians from King's Lynn joined the Thetford Church of the Nazarene.    Around the same time Rev. Don Mentch moved to Thetford to be assistant pastor.

Pastor Don Mentch supported the fledgling group and moved to King's Lynn in 1985 as part-time pastor.

The King's Lynn Church of the Nazarene was organised on16th September 1989.

After meeting in several venues the church settled in Reffley Community Centre from 1990 until 1999.

Whilst a good witness was being made, numbers remained fairly low.  In 1999 it was decided to move to the Reffley Community School for Sunday morning services and Sunday School.

The following year a challenging outreach took place called the "Phones For You" project. At first this did not seem to make much difference but as members looked back they realised that prayer, plus the move had been catalysts for change and growth since 2001.

In King's Lynn we confirm that we are an evangelical Christian Church in the Methodist tradition. We are members of King's Lynn Churches Together.
