A Message from the Rev Don Mentch, Pastor of the Reffley
Community
Church, King’s Lynn Church of the Nazarene
Some 25 years ago a group of like-minded Christians came
together with the oversight of the Nazarene Church in Thetford to establish a
church plant on a housing estate here in King's Lynn. The King's Lynn Church of
the Nazarene is about to celebrate with thanksgiving the 25th anniversary of our
church which now meets for worship in the Reffley Community School in the heart
of our community. We pray that we will be enabled to continue to serve the Lord
and His people for many more years.
While there is still a great deal of work to do in King's Lynn, we are mindful
of the need to reach out further into communities where the Lord's work is
needed in response to the Great Commission. To that end we have been prayerfully
considering expanding our work around the area of East Lincolnshire and have
been led by the Holy Spirit to set up a project which we are calling the East
Lincolnshire Initiative. This initiative is being led by the Rev Ian Banks who
has previously pastored in this area. Ian has a passion to reach people who for
one reason or another are outside the church.
As the first phase of this initiative, we at Reffley Community Church believe
that God has laid it on our hearts to seek a core of people who would be willing
to share God's call to establish a fellowship of Nazarenes which will serve the
people of Boston and surrounding area.
